Artists may have cause for optimism as the Obama Co. responds to cries from our community.
Not even a month in the big chair and Obama has already penned approval for cash money to be spread out amongst the artistic populace. Will these millions help bolster our communities? Will the Endowment live up to their responsibilities? Maybe not. But I'm still pretty excited.
I'm excited that someone even gives a shit. I may never hold an Endowment dime, but hopefully it will go to a rightful cause. Not just museums and stalwarts that have nothing to gain. But to those artists and organizations that have proven they have nothing to lose.
